Product Description


Abprazole 700™ is used for the treatment and prevention of equine gastric ulcers.

Equine gastric ulcers are potentiated by stress, transportation, intermittent feeding, racing, illness and management changes.

The most successful treatment regime is the use of Omeprazole. Omeprazole is the only treatment for EGUS currently approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Omeprazole in not an antacid. It decreases the gastric acid secretion by blocking the H+, K+ - adenosine triphosphatase (acid pump) enzymes, shutting down acid secretion by knocking out the acid pumps - as opposed to competing with the stimulant.

The administration of Omeprazole allows horses to stay in training, as they heal quicker.

Abprazole 700TM contains enteric coated granules of Omeprazole (for the treatment of ulcers) in a single dose sachet.

  • Up to 57% of foals have stomach ulcers, particularly during the early months
